WA: Introduction and General Info

Fancy meeting you here.

We’re glad to see you. We’re still figuring out this whole “online” training thing, so we appreciate your patience and grace (as well as constructive feedback). Our intention is to put a short video here explaining how to navigate our online course system and get some of the basic stuff for using Oak Ridge National Lab’s Weatherization Assistant (WAweb) covered in an online format here. However, we’re not there yet so a quick explanation in text is what you’re gonna get for the moment.

Training Schedule:

Unless we tell you otherwise, we’ll plan to see you at 8:30 am on the first scheduled day of the course.

What to bring:

You’re going to need to bring some things with you, namely:

• A laptop computer with charger, mouse, and mousepad.
  • ORNL’s WAweb is accessed and used through a computer’s web browser. EEC has several laptops that you can use while you’re with us, however you should come prepared with your own computer, just in case it’s necessary.
  • ORNL has stated that WAweb sometimes misbehaves when used on a tablet, and we’ve seen some evidence to support this. If you’re planning to bring a tablet, then we’d recommend you bring one with a keyboard and mouse, and a case that allows you to stand it up like a laptop.
• A good attitude. (jerks will be snubbed at the door).
