Introduction and General Info
Well, hey there!
Fancy meeting you here.
We’re glad to see you. We’re still figuring out this whole “online” training thing, so we appreciate your patience and grace (as well as constructive feedback). Our intention is to put a short video here explaining how to navigate our online course system and the entire EA certification renewal process. However, we’re not there yet so a quick explanation in text is what you’re gonna get for the moment.
What we need from you:
For a start, you have homework. Plan for it and don’t wait until the last minute to try and get it done. You’ll need to upload a copy of your BPI EA Approval Letter to us in the next lesson, and you won’t be allowed to continue until that’s done so you’d better get busy, because your real homework can’t be done until that’s uploaded.
This next part is important:
After your EA approval letter has been sent to us, you’ll need to print the EEC EA Student Field Guide Workbook and fill it out while you watch the following video lessons. This must be completed before you arrive at EEC. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but it must be done.
People who arrive for their in-person training and exam without a completed field guide will be at a disadvantage and will struggle. We can’t just hand you a script because your mother told you how special you are. We do everything in our power to make the course materials and training as thorough and accessible as we can so your exam will be as smooth as possible. However, you have to meet us halfway by putting in some work yourself. Expect this part to take you a couple of hours.
Seriously, don’t show up here empty handed, saying, “I watched half the video, I know what I’m doing,” or we’re going to hand you BPI’s EA Exam Field Guide (which you can review in the Materials tab above) instead of handing you ours, then we’ll start your exam. Trust me when I say that nobody is going to enjoy that.
Training Schedule:
Unless we tell you otherwise, we’ll plan to see you at 8:30am on the day of your training/exam.
What to bring:
You’re going to need to bring some things with you, namely:
- Valid state-issued ID (drivers license, passport, military ID, etc.) — we cannot accept photocopies,
- Your completed EEC Student Field Guide Workbook,
- A laptop computer with charger, mouse, and mousepad (if you will be taking any online/written exams),
- A good attitude. (jerks will be snubbed at the door).
Where am I going?
